What you need
- Crystal (Quartz)
- Salt
- Soil
- Staff or Wand
Steps
- Begin this spell outdoors, on a patch of earth that feels 'right' to you.
- Use the staff or wand to draw a large circle on the ground around the area or person you wish to protect.
- Fill the circle with a thin line of salt, following the line you drew with the staff or wand.
- Take the soil in your hands and begin to walk the circle again, letting the soil fall through your fingers and onto the salt line.
- Hold the quartz crystal in your dominant hand and close your eyes. Visualize a barrier of energy rising from the circle and enveloping the area or person in protection.
- Recite a chant or affirmation that reinforces your intention of protection. Repeat it three times.
- Leave the circle intact until the person or area no longer requires protection, then sweep the salt and soil away.
Notes
This spell is most effective when performed during the waning moon. The protective energy can be renewed by walking the circle and reciting the chant once a day.
Burn candles in a stable holder and never leave a flame unattended.
