About Wicca Guide
A clear, practical reference for modern witchcraft — and the free companion to the Wicca app for iPhone.
What this site is
Wicca Guide publishes the same library that powers the Wicca app: 77 crystals, 82 magical herbs, 151 spells, all 78 tarot cards and 25 guides for beginners. The reference material is free to read here. The app adds the hands-on parts — guided, step-by-step spells, herb and crystal identification from a photo, and moon tracking.
How the content is made
- Grounded in tradition. Correspondences, folklore and historical uses are drawn from established folk-magic, herbal and Wiccan traditions. Where traditions disagree, we say so rather than pick one silently.
- Safety first. Every herb and crystal page carries its safety notes in full — toxicity, which stones shouldn’t go in water or sunlight, and fire safety for candles. Witchcraft is spiritual practice, not medical advice.
- Accurate moon data. Moon phases in the app are calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, the same astronomical engine astrologers rely on.
- Kept up to date. Each page shows when its content last changed. Pages are rebuilt from the app’s library whenever it is updated.
Who makes it
Wicca Guide started with curiosity, not credentials. We're a small, independent team who were drawn to witchcraft the way many people are — a crystal that caught the eye, a full moon that felt worth marking, a question about what an herb was really used for — and kept going.
The more we read, the more we ran into the same problems: vague answers, sources that contradicted each other, moon dates that were simply wrong, and safety notes buried or missing. So we built the reference we wanted for ourselves — correspondences, folklore and safety side by side, clear enough for a beginner and careful enough to trust — first as the Wicca app, and now as this site.
We're still learning too. That's why we lean on established traditions instead of inventing our own, say so when traditions disagree, and welcome corrections from readers. Wicca Guide and the Wicca app are made by PaytakTech, an independent app studio.
