What you need
- Sage Smudge Stick
- Black Tourmaline
- Salt
- Candles
- Athame
Steps
- Ground yourself. Breathe in the energy of the earth and let it center your being.
- Light your sage smudge stick and let it smoke. Move around the area or person you wish to cleanse, waving the sage in all directions.
- Take the Black Tourmaline and hold it in your dominant hand. Feel its energy flowing into you.
- Sprinkle salt in a circle around the area or person you wish to protect.
- Light your candles, one by one. As you do so, visualize a wall of light growing with each flame.
- Take your athame and trace a boundary in the air around the area or person. Visualize this as a barrier against all harmful energies.
- Chant the following: 'By the power of Gaia, I banish thee. By the light of the earth, be set free.'
- Sit quietly for a moment and let the energies settle. When you feel the spell is complete, extinguish your candles.
- Leave the salt and Tourmaline in place as long as you feel necessary. They will continue to protect the area or person.
- Dispose of the sage in a respectful way, returning it to the earth.
