Comfrey is a perennial herb with large, coarse, lance-shaped leaves that are covered in fine hairs. It produces bell-shaped flowers that range in color from white to pink, purple, or blue. The plant has a deep taproot and can grow up to 3 feet tall.
Comfrey is native to Europe and parts of Asia, but it has been naturalized in North America. It thrives in moist, nutrient-rich soils, particularly along riverbanks, ditches, and meadows.
